Typography inspiration #2

I found a blog post on one of my favourite blogs with what I think has to be the biggest typography work ever done.

"I stumbled upon this extraordinary piece of landscape while i was fiddling around with Google Earth the other day. Wikipedia states that: “Sheikh Hamad owns Futaisi Island, this has been handed down from father to son. It covers an area of 50 square kilometres …” I think it’s more than probable that this is that exact island, just outside Abu Dhabi. According to the scale on Google maps, the letters are approximately 480 meters high and the whole word is about 1,7 kilometers long! That should make the text around 1 360 500 pt.
Sheik Hamad is a cool sheik. Maybe a tad bit crazy, but still cool."
